The Pathfinder program is RFSR's basic skills program. The Pathfinder program is an all day program that allows Scouts to actively participate in a Partol and Troop environment. In addition to learning the fundamental principles of the Scouting program, participants will earn their Totin' Chip and Firem'n Chit certificates. Pathfinders is a special program for first year campers. It is designed to help Scouts earn advancement requirements toward Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. Pathfinders will work on a busy schedule of advancement, including First Aid and Swimming Merit Badge work. The pathfinders program is under the immediate supervision of the Program Director, with Pathfinder Staff being trained specifically in the needs of first year campers. A complete report of the Scout's advancement will be given to the Scout's unit leader at the end of the week. The Pathfinder advancement form will provide a performance evaluation for each participant based on his proficiency at skills or requirements encountered in the class. The Pathfinder's program is long hours with the same people everyday, but the staff makes sure to work in plenty of fun.
